RANDERS FALL AT HORSENS
A penalty made all the difference as Randers FC lost 1-0 to AC Horsens in front of 3,143 spectators at Forum Horsens Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Lee Nguyen replaced Rasmus Hansen for Randers in the 64th, but could not turn things around. Will John was not on Randers' game roster.

Horsens started the game on top, advancing well on a poor Randers defense. After 15 minutes, it was Randers defender Issah Ahmed who brought down Rawez Lawan in the area and Henrik Hansen took full advantage from the spot.

Fabinho came close to the equalizer two minutes later, but Søren Johumsen sat on the ball to save the day.

Horsens continued their dominance for the rest of the game, but two balls on the woodwork and a clearance off the line kept the scoreline modest.

Randers drop to eighth in the league, one point behind Esbjerg. They host Odense BK on Sunday.

AGF DROUGHT CONTINUES
With a 1-0 home loss to Esbjerg fB in front of 8,503 spectators on Sunday afternoon, Aarhus GF remain goalless from their four league games of 2008.

Jeremiah White played 90 minutes at right midfield for AGF and came closest to an equalizer, while Esbjerg backup keeper Tally Hall watched from the bench.

In spite of a number of injuries still troubling the squad, Aarhus came out in the first half with a great deal of optimism and put on the early pressure, albeit without creating any mentionable chances.

Instead, Esbjerg began to come forward and in the 27th minute, a throw-in from the left was nodded on for Jesper Bech, who sent the ball past Steffen Rasmussen from close range.

Esbjerg kept up the pressure and Martin Vingaard struck the crossbar from a free kick in the 41st.

AGF pushed for the equalizer in the second half, but both White's volley in the 55th and Kasper Povlsen's in the 65th lacked precision and the scoreline held.

AGF maintained the status quo in the relegation battle, with six points down to Viborg and the drop zone. Those teams will face each other in Aarhus next Monday.

AALBORG STAY ON TITLE COURSE
Aalborg BK recorded their third straight win when they took home a 1-0 away result against Brøndby in front of a crowd of 20,391 on Sunday evening.

Captain Danny Califf played his usual 90 minutes in Aalborg's central defense and a yellow card in the 12th minute was the only blemish on an otherwise spotless performance from the Californian.

Brøndby had most of the possession early on, but it was the visitors who created the chances. Andreas Johansson found the post with a header after seven minutes, and Thomas Enevoldsen sent one shot just past the left post in the 30th and one onto the right post five minutes later.

In the 39th minute, Brøndby's luck ran out when Sweden striker Lasse Nilsson stormed past Thomas Rasmussen and served a perfect ball for Thomas Augustinussen, whose header went in off goalkeeper Stephan Andersen.

It could have been 2-0 when Johansson tried his luck with an overhead kick early in the second half, but the attempt caromed out off the crossbar.

Brøndby put pressure on towards the end, but despite heavy population in AaB's defensive zone, the home side created little in the way of chances and the scoreline held.

Aalborg stay in first place of the SAS Liga with a three-point lead on defending champions FC Copenhagen before hosting FC Nordsjælland on Sunday.

Scoring

AAB - Thomas Augustinussen 2 (Lasse Nilsson) 39'

BIF - Stephan Andersen; Anders Randrup, Mark Howard (Daniel Wass 88'), Max von Schlebrügge, Thomas Rasmussen, Mike Jensen (Tobias Mikkelsen 67'), Stefan Gislason, Martin Retov (Per Nielsen 77'), Samuel Holmén, Martin Ericsson, Chris Katongo
