RANDERS CRASH BACK TO EARTH
After last weekend's convincing 4-1 win over Aarhus GF, Randers FC came back down to earth as they lost 3-2 away to Esbjerg fB in front of 5,052 spectators at Blue Water Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Lee Nguyen played a disappointing 42 minutes at right midfield for Randers before being replaced by Alain Behi. Will John was not on Randers' match roster, while Esbjerg backup keeper Tally Hall watched from the bench.

Two attempts from Esbjerg's Martin Vingaard and Fredrik Björck - both saved by Kevin Stuhr-Ellegaard - were the only highlights of the first 45, but the home fans would get their money's worth in the second half.

Björck showed up at the near post to head in a free kick from Vingaard for the opener in the 57th, but only a minute later, Marc Nygaard headed in the equalizer from a corner to level.

Vingaard showed up in the 66th minute to smash in a 25-yard scorcher, but with 10 minutes left on the clock, Nygaard headed in a free kick from Kenneth Møller Pedersen for the second equalizer.

Four minutes before time, however, Jesper Lange scored the match winner when he slid in to finish Emmanuel Ukpai's work.

Esbjerg take over seventh place from Randers, who slide down to ninth, one point behind Brøndby IF. Randers travel to Herning to face FC Midtjylland on Wednesday while Esbjerg face Odense BK away.

AALBORG MARCH TOWARDS TITLE
Aalborg BK put another nail in Viborg FF's relegation coffin while moving one step closer to the championship as 5,757 spectators watched them take home a 1-0 win from Viborg Stadion on Sunday evening.

Captain Danny Califf played his usual 90 minutes in Aalborg's central defense, and despite some problems with Viborg's Christian Muomaife, the Californian helped his team to their third straight clean sheet. Robbie Russell, meanwhile, did not dress for Viborg.

The only goal of the game was scored after 15 minutes when Dan Anton Johansen failed to step up allowing Andreas Johansson to beat the offside trap and send it coolly past Robert Veselovsky.

A misunderstanding between Califf and young keeper Kenneth Stenild gave Muomaife an open chance on goal, but Stenild made a fine save.

AaB had their chances to extend the lead in the first half, but attempts from Jeppe Curth, Thomas Enevoldsen and Lasse Nilsson all went wanting.

As the second half went on, Viborg slowly fought their way into the game, but a fantastic save by Stenild in injury time prevented Jacob Olesen from scoring the equalizer.

AaB's lead is extended to nine points with FC Midtjylland now leading the chase, following FC Copenhagen's unexpected Monday evening loss at Horsens. Viborg trail Aarhus GF by nine points in the relegation race with five games left.

Scoring
AAB - Andreas Johansson 7 (Kasper Risgård) 15'

VFF - Robert Veselovsky; Dan Anton Johansen (Jacob Olesen 80'), Thomas Frandsen, Asbjørn Sennels, Giorgi Popkhadze, Simon Nagel (Christian Olsen 64'), Jakob Glerup, Morten Bertolt (Robert Åhman-Persson 76'), Rúrik Gislason, Christian Muomaife, Søren Ulrik Vestergaard

AAB - Kenneth Stenild; Allan Olesen, Danny Califf, Steve Olfers, Michael Jakobsen, Thomas Enevoldsen (Patrick Kristensen 74'), Kasper Risgård, Thomas Augustinussen, Andreas Johansson, Jeppe Curth, Lasse Nilsson (Simon Bræmer 57')
