The midfielder returned to MLS after spending three years in Norway, two at Ham-Kam and then a championship season with Brann. Corrales was born in nearby Salinas, California and is glad to be coming home.

"I am very happy to be back in San Jose and be playing for Frank Yallop again" he told the club website. "I want to win more championships with the Earthquakes and I look forward to playing in front of my hometown fans."

Corrales played in MLS from 1996 to 2004 after being drafted by the Columbus Crew but immediately traded to San Jose. He played there until being taken in the 1997 expansion draft by the Miami Fusion, then was traded to the MetroStars the following year and would be on the team until 2001. His second stint with San Jose was from 2001 to 2004.

The 31-year old played in 191 games (including playoffs) and started 161 of them in his nine seasons in MLS. He registered nine goals, all with San Jose, and 20 assists.

In all, Corrales played 57 games in Norway, scoring three goals. He was named the Ham-Kam Player of the Season in 2006.
