The versatile striker, also capable of playing in midfield, was initially brought in for a spot under watchful eyes for his goal-scoring prowess, but has since entertained the club in a strictly midfield context.

Chinn recorded four goals and three assists for the University of San Francisco Dons during the 2006 season, helping the team to second place in the Western Conference. Previously, the attacker spent a red-shirt season at Seattle University, after a a strong youth career with the La Jolla Nomads - the club having previously developed players like Marcello Balboa, Steve Cherundolo and Eric Wynalda.

Haarlem, which finished 14th in the Dutch Jupiler League last season, scored only 43 goals all of last term and has since lost some attacking presence through the departures of Achmed Ahahaoui and Kwong-Wah Steinraht.

The club have also been looking at Groningen front man Rogier Krohne and Danish attacker Kenneth Knudsen alongside the American. Krohne and Knudsen played roles in a recent 6-0 friendly win over Kogge Express, while Chinn was kept on the sidelines for the pre-season affair.

While the club had originally planned for Chinn's look to end Wednesday, his stay with the club has since been extended. A decision concerning any potential future with the club is expected to be made soon. The 19-year old is still eligible for three years of NCAA soccer, pending any professional developments.
