Cuauhtémoc Blanco found the net in his first appearance donning a Chicago Fire #10 shirt, but a late Derek Riordan goal earned Celtic a 1-1 Sunday draw to end their American tour.

The mercurial Mexico ace worked an active 58 minutes, firing on goal five times to the delight of the Toyota Park crowd.

In the 23rd minute, Blanco teed up Calen Carr, but the youngster could only find the crossbar. Seven minutes later, the debutant showed the home faithful why he was signed.

Blanco slalomed past a pair of defenders, then rounded Hoops keeper Artur Boruc to set the Fire in the lead.

Despite not threatening nearly as often as their Windy City hosts, Celtic went level when Riordan deposited a Massimo Donati cross with nine minutes to play.

Fire keeper Jon Busch then had to be on his toes to stop a late Scott McDonald blast to preserve the tie.
