Brescia Bested at Chievo

US international Danny Szetela and Brescia squandered a chance to pull to within the league lead by suffering a 3-0 defeat in a big match at head of the class Chievo Verona.

The former Columbus Crew worked the final 20 minutes in a mop-up role.

Brescia ran a 3-5-2 lineup, with Andrea Caracciolo and Davide Possanzini up top and with attacking midfielder Roberto De Zerbi on the bench again.  

The home side team took to the offense from the start, scoring after just six minutes through Brazilian defender Cesar.

Chievo then completely took control of the game with Brescia not offering much fight. In the 38th minute, Sergio Pellisier added to the lead by lobbing over Brescia netminder Emiliano Viviano.

Chievo had several more occasions to find the net, and with nine minutes to play, scored again through midfielder Vincenzo Italiano to firm up the score.

Brescia will host relegation land member Treviso on Saturday.
