With four games left to play, Danny Califf's Aalborg BK are lined up for the third championship title in the club's 123-year history as they hold a nine-point lead on closest chasers FC Midtjylland.

A Midtjylland draw on Monday at Esbjerg, where they have never won, would mean that AaB can clinch the title with a win on defensing champions FC Copenhagen's turf, where Califf and his teammates have won their two previous meetings.

"We've had good luck at Parken in the past and I think in games like that, guys feel like they don't have anything to lose anyway," Califf told American Soccer Daily.

The remaining schedule involves a home game against Brøndby IF and a trip to cellar dwellers Lyngby before the season wraps up at home against Odense BK, so there are plenty of chances for the team to take the necessary points.

"At this point, we hold all the cards and it's just about picking up points where we can," said Califf. "Hopefully, we don't have to leave it late to Lyngby, but if that's the case then that's the case, but I sure hope that we can wrap it up as quickly as possible."

The city of Aalborg is getting ready for the party of a decade on May 24th with a likely championship celebration on top of the largest carnival in Northern Europe.
