The former Columbus Crew midfielder, loaned by La Liga's Racing Santander, came off the bench in 78th minute with the points in the balance.

In the big match of the championship's midweek action, Brescia head coach Serse Cosmi put out a 3-4-1-2 formation. New acquisition Roberto De Zerbi lined up just behind the attacking combo of Andrea Caracciolo and Davide Possanzini, and the home side team took control for nearly the whole match.

Paraguayan defender Victor Hugo Mareco put Brescia up in the 39th minute and the visitors never seemed able to equalize.

With their third consecutive victory, Brescia remain sixth ahead of Saturday's trip to Messina. However, the Biancoazzurri hold a game in hand on the rest of the top nine, which they can use to climb as high as third.
