American striker Nate Jaqua scored on his T-Mobile Bundesliga debut and Altach held off title chasing hosts Austria Vienna to post a 1-1 draw.

The former Fire, Galaxy and Dynamo man went the distance as his side gained an important road point to remain safely in eighth place.

After the hosts were denied on a pair of prime early chances, Jaqua gave the visitors a shock lead midway through the period by nodding home a corner kick.

Moments later, David Lafata narrowly missed putting home a Milenko Ačimovič rebound, kicking off a succession of close calls for the home team.

They finally grabbed a deserved goal when Austria Under-20 star Ruben Okotie scooped an entry feed for Johannes Aigner to net.

Altach keeper Mario Krassnitzer was at his best to maintain the draw, turning away stoppage time efforts from Joachim Standfest, Okotie and Wolfgang Mair.

Jaqua & Co. will now return home to welcome second place Rapid Vienna next Sunday.
