The US Under-20 National Team member, who was included on the roster for last summer's 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup but failed to make it onto the field, struggled to garner playing time with United his first season under contract. He did, however, manage nine appearances for the club's MLS Reserve Division side, notching one goal in 753 minutes on the field.

"Bryan is indeed scheduled to join Hertha for a few weeks in January," Rob Feigenson, a National Sports Group agent working in conjunction with Arguez representatives Long View Management, told American Soccer Daily. "He arrives on the 3rd."

The young midfielder is now set for a chance to learn from the coaches of Hertha, who currently sit 12th in Germany's top flight. The timing of his visit comes just six months after the sale of the precocious and hot-headed brother duo of Kevin-Prince and Jerome Boateng to Tottenham Hotspurs and Hamburg SV, respectively.

"Hertha has been talking with us about their desires to find young, pedigreed youth national team players with physical qualities that convey well into Bundesliga potential," Feigenson commented.

"So, we recommended to his advisers that he join Hertha for training, so that Bryan may gain valuable experience with football overseas. Of course, if the club feels that he's a player that fits their long-term plans then there's always a chance that they make an offer to MLS."

While two weeks of play alongside the likes of German international Arne Friedrich and Brazil 2006 World Cup squad member Mineiro might be plenty of food for thought and fuel for speculation, his management remains firm over his MLS status.

"Bryan is under contract with MLS and plays for DC United," Feigenson added. "He has a career path there. At the moment, however, Bryan, his management team and DC United see this as a terrific experience for him during the off-season and a way to sharpen him up ahead of the 2008 preseason."
