Hertha Berlin have excitedly tabled an offer for DC United midfield prospect Bryan Arguez, who wowed the Bundesliga staff during their midseason training camp in Spain.

A first round pick in 2007, the US Under-20 international did not see any MLS action last season.

"We are very interested in the player," Hertha press officer Robert Burkhardt told American Soccer Daily. "We will see what the conditions are, and if they are okay, we will probably sign him because he was really impressive in Tenerife.

Though the Blue-Whites must still come to an agreement with MLS and find personal terms with Arguez, the team admit they could have a deal sewn up at any time in the next week or so.

"Considering he is only 19, he did very well," added Burkhardt. "If (the price) is reasonable, we'll probably take him."

Hertha also recently ran the rue over University of Washington striker Ellis McLoughlin, who might one day receive an Olympic Stadium offer himself.

"He is only 17 years old, so we will have to see," said Burkhardt. "He might be able to help us. We'll stay in touch with him."
