Having completed a trial with Ligue 1 club Bordeaux prior to joining the US Under-23 National Team at their recent camp, the Houston native is set to run out of contract at the end of the year.

"Arturo is wanted by two top clubs in Mexico," Lyle Yorks told American Soccer Daily.

"We are still in negotiations with MLS, but have not come to an agreement. There is also an opportunity in France."

Already a five-tear MLS veteran at 22, Alvarez scored three goals and three assists in 27 games in 2007.
