The American striker worked the full contest as his side climbed seven points clear of the trap door.

The hosts took the lead slightly against the run of play on 28 minutes after Rapid defender Marcus Katzer chopped down right wing raider Karsten Hutwelker in the area. Roland Kirchler calmly stepped up to bury the resulting spot kick.

Altach enjoyed some other brief attack postures soon thereafter, but were unable to capitalize and went into the break up one.

Rapid came out of intermission on the prowl, racking up many of the 16 shots they squeezed off on the afternoon. However, only one went on net and it tied the game in the 68th minute.

A long throw-in pinballed across the area until Branko Boskovic pounced like a cat at the far post to roof the equalizer.

The teams traded blows for several minutes, but Jaqua would supply the knockout punch with two minutes remaining, trailing the play to bull home a Kirchler cutback.

Altach will try to continue their fortune against top T-Mobile Bundesliga clubs when they visit third place Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday.
