Slipping 1860 Munich missed a chance to cozy up to the promotion zone wit a scoreless draw at St. Pauli on Monday night.

US striker Josh Wolff worked the second half in relief, while backline marshal Greg Berhalter sat out a yellow cards ban.

1860 stand-in keeper Phillip Tschauner stood tall in the opening phase as the Anarchists whipped their notoriously rowdy crowd into a lather by creating several good chances.

The netminder did well to turn away a Charles Takyi long drive in the 19th minute, then stuffed René Schnitzler after the striker had been played in by the shooter-turned-provider only seconds later.

The visitors held more of the ball after halftime, but looks at goal were few and far between. Not even the return of top gun Antonio Di Salvo could help 1860 conjure a late winner.

The Lions, now winless in five and down to eighth place after setting the early league pace, will try to get the ship righted when Mainz 05 come to town on Saturday.

1860 - Phillip Tschauner; Fabian Johnson, Markus Thorandt, Torben Hoffmann, Benjamin Schwarz, Danny Schwarz, Sven Bender (Josh Wolff 46'), Daniel Bierofka (Chhunly Pagenburg 79'), Lars Bender, José Holebas (Antonio Di Salvo 62'), Mustafa Kučuković
